Nixle is transitioning to Everbridge

The City of Coronado is transitioning from Nixle to Everbridge, a new mass notification system designed to strengthen how the City communicates important information with the community.

Everbridge will serve the same purpose as Nixle, providing important City alerts and notifications directly to residents, but will give the City greater flexibility in how information is shared and give residents more control over the types of notifications they receive.

What Is Everbridge?

Everbridge is a FREE mass notification and communications platform that helps organizations communicate important information to large groups of people quickly and through multiple communication channels. It will allow the City to quickly share important information with the community, including:

• Emergency and public safety alerts
• Bridge updates
• Road closures and traffic impacts
• Weather-related information
• Community advisories
• Other time-sensitive City updates

If you currently receive Nixle alerts, you will need to create an Everbridge account to continue receiving City notifications.

The City will use both Nixle and Everbridge concurrently during a six-month transition period to allow for a smooth changeover and give residents time to register for Everbridge. During this time, residents may receive City notifications through either system as the City transitions to Everbridge.

Beginning April 2027, all City mass notification alerts will be issued only through Everbridge.

Residents are encouraged to register for Everbridge now to ensure they are ready to receive City notifications when the transition is complete.
