John D. Spreckels Lawn Bowling Green Storm Related Turf Replacement

At a Glance

Following the severe rain event on January 22, 2024, the John D. Spreckels Center's Lawn Bowling Green turf was damaged. The replacement of the damaged turf was eligible for reimbursement under the City of Coronado's insurance policy and the City Council approved moving forward with the turf replacement under the City’s insurance policy on September 17, 2024.

Scope of Work

• Work will focus only on the removal of the existing turf and the replacement of the turf on the Lawn Bowling Green with a like-kind-quality turf.
• Plans for root barriers and a drainage pump system have been removed from the scope of work.

Construction Schedule (estimated)

Project materials were ordered immediately after Council approval and the product is expected to arrive in San Diego on January 8, 2025.
