The City of Coronado introduced a new model for street sweeping operations in February, aimed at enhancing service effectiveness and providing long-term benefits to the community. This initiative marks a strategic evolution in how the city manages street maintenance, building on its history of dedicated service while incorporating improvements to better meet the needs of residents, businesses, and visitors.

What’s New

  • Data-Driven Scheduling: Advanced technology identifies high-debris areas so that sweeping efforts are focused where they’re most needed.

  • Targeted Coverage: Performance-based routing ensures that each sweep has maximum impact on street cleanliness and safety.

The program is being implemented through an 18-month contract with Sweeping Corporation of America of California, LLC, allowing the City to refine operations and continuously improve service delivery.
